Individuals
Via a relationship of trust and collaboration, individual therapy offers a unique space for you to explore your feelings, relationships, choices, and behaviours. It can help you make sense of how your childhood and other past experiences have affected the way you are today, and it can open you up to the possibility of change. At The Therapy Hub, we are mindful of how societal realities and inequities limit the individual's possibilities, and we do not shy from exploring these with you. We have a breadth of experience of working with neurodiversity; survivors of sexual and childhood abuse; LGBTQIA+ individuals; and a range of life struggles, including, though not limited to, OCD, bi-polar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, infertility, loneliness, perimenopause, sexual dysfunction, panic disorder, and career and life crises.

Couples

Couples therapy offers a safe space for you to communicate with each other courageously in the presence of a third person who emphasises compassion. In this space, destructive and hurtful emotions such as anger and resentment can be explored in a safe, productive way. You will be encouraged to consider each other's unarticulated needs and experiences, including how childhood and societal realities might be contributing to conflict. The therapist may propose some individual sessions with each member of the couple, allowing for deeper insight and increased transparency. Where there has been betrayal or infidelity, couples therapy can provide an invaluable platform for resetting the rules of a relationship and attempting to rebuild trust. It can also help in confronting issues around sexual intimacy. In some cases, it may be a vehicle for negotiating a peaceful ending – particularly important where children are involved.

Families
Both the family we are born into and the family we raise profoundly affect our way of being and our mental health. Family therapy offers a mediated space to confront conflict and struggles that may be overwhelming certain family members, including questions of identity, eating disorders, neurodiversity, life transitions, other relationships, and addiction. The therapist will encourage you to approach each other with deeper empathy, and explore habits and dynamics that may be contributing to distress. At The Therapy Hub, we work with parents of neurodivergent kids, and multi-cultural families, and appreciate the particular struggles faced by third culture kids. Adolescent distress, in particular, is deeply connected to the family ecosystem: when the family is in conflict, the adolescent may struggle; and if the adolescent is in crisis, the family will be affected. Family therapy includes sessions with all members present, and separate sessions with individual family members.

Groups
Eight to ten individuals meet weekly to share their fears, struggles, joys – to excavate their personal truths in a way they perhaps have never done before. It may sound terrifying, but the bonds that grow between these individuals are utterly unique and empowering. Group therapy has – time and time again – inspired in us a sense of awe and wonder at the capacity for human beings to light a flame of self-understanding in each other, and to motivate much-needed change. Groups start sporadically throughout the year. Please contact us if you are interested in joining one.
